The short version

Your workspace lives in your own browser, and the files you add are read there and never uploaded. To actually write your plan, though, Glyn has to send the sentence you typed — and any figures it took from your files — to an AI model. Nothing we store is tied to your name unless you left us your email, and that is the only personal data we keep.

What stays in your browser

Your workspace — the business you described, Glyn's replies, every deliverable, your to-do list and any file you added — is saved in this browser's local storage. We keep no copy of it. Clearing your browser data deletes it permanently, and it will not follow you to another device.

A file you add is parsed here, in the page. A bank statement is never uploaded: Glyn reads it in your browser, keeps the handful of figures it needs — a balance, money in, money out — and the file itself stays on your machine.

What Glyn sends to the AI models

Glyn cannot write a plan for your business without telling a model about your business. When you describe an idea or ask a follow-up, we send the sentence you typed, the working name, category and location Glyn derived from it, and any figures taken from your files. That goes to Google's Vertex AI, and for recommendations, competitor research and example images to Anthropic and OpenAI.

We never send your email address, the files themselves, or anything that identifies you personally. Be aware all the same that the sentence you type is a description of your business, and treat it the way you would treat telling anyone else — if the idea is confidential, say less.

What we do hold

• Your email address, if you asked us to tell you when Glyn is ready — along with the one-sentence business idea you had typed, so we know what you want it for.
• Anonymous usage counts: which steps of the flow people reach, and where they stop. No names, no email addresses, no business ideas.
• Ordinary server logs, including IP addresses, which we use to rate limit the parts of Glyn that call AI models.

Why we're allowed to

We hold your email on the basis of your consent — you typed it into a field that said what it was for, and you can withdraw that at any time. We keep usage counts and server logs on the basis of legitimate interests: knowing whether the product works, and stopping our AI credit being drained by strangers.

Who else sees it

• Vercel hosts Glyn and provides its analytics.
• Supabase stores the waitlist.
• Google, through Vertex AI, receives your business description and any figures from your files, because it is the model that writes your plan.
• Anthropic and OpenAI receive the text of a request when Glyn generates recommendations, researches competitors or makes an example image.
• Upstash counts requests per IP address, which is how we stop strangers draining our AI credit.
• Sentry receives the details of an error when something breaks, so we can fix it. It is configured not to record your session or what you typed.

Each of these is a processor acting on our instructions, and some are outside the EU. Your email address is never sent to any of them except Supabase, which is where it is stored.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

How long

Waitlist emails are kept until Glyn launches and we have told you, or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first. Logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us holding it at all. Email us and we will action it, normally within a few days and always within a month. Nothing is required of you in return. If we get it wrong you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Cookies

Glyn sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Local storage is used to keep your workspace on this device, which is what makes the product work rather than something we learn from.
